Core Processing Guarantee
Images selected for scanning and cleaning are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers for the core image-processing functionality.
1. Local Architecture & Technical Flow
MetaClean was engineered from the ground up to operate without server-side image processing pipelines:
- File Loading: When you drag and drop or select an image file, the browser uses the standard HTML5 File API and reads the raw bytes directly into local memory (as
ArrayBuffer/Uint8Array). - Metadata Parsing: EXIF, XMP, IPTC, PNG chunks, and C2PA manifests are decoded natively on your computer using in-browser JavaScript logic.
- Sanitization: Metadata stripping operates entirely in client memory. The sanitized file is returned as a local
Blob. - Direct Download: The resulting sanitized file is downloaded directly from browser memory to your local device.
2. Zero Remote Data Storage
We do not maintain backend storage buckets, databases, or temporary caches for user images. We cannot see, store, reproduce, or inspect your uploaded files.
3. Analytics & Network Requests
MetaClean does not embed third-party advertising trackers or behavioral analytics scripts. Any technical network requests are strictly limited to standard static asset delivery (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web fonts). No telemetry containing image names, dimensions, or metadata contents is ever transmitted.
4. Memory Management
Temporary object URLs (blob: URLs) generated during the scanning process are automatically revoked via URL.revokeObjectURL() when an image is closed or replaced, freeing your device memory immediately.
